Friends Steer Project (fundraiser not a share of beef)
Local area farmers generously donate over 40 steer calves to Friends Ministry in early spring. The farmers keep the steers until they are 60 days old and then we transport them to our holding pen on site. There we have the responsibility to feed and maintain them until late October. The calves are sold at market to support garden costs. A local experienced person has volunteered to over-see this project and this is where you come in...
- We are in need of individuals, families or groups to sponsor a calf. The cost is $295 to feed one calf for the season.
- You can prorate your donation on a monthly basis or give a one-time gift.
- We would also gladly consider donations of quality bales of hay.
- We need a few people who will commit to 15 minutes once a week to feed grain/hay for the calves in the morning.
